EDRG 3321 Lit. for Public Schools *Pickett*

     I think picture books are really great and fun.  What I found interesting that Mrs. Pickett said was that you can even read them to high school students.  That there are so many ideas that relate to the older kids not only the younger ones.  The book says the main function of illustration is to illuminate the text.  And I think that is so very important because many children learn by pictures.  I know that I am a visual learner and pictures help me learn, even as an adult.  We can learn alot about art from picture books, there are many terms like: line, color, shape, texture, and composition. 
     An author I really like is H.A. Rey.  He is the author of the Curious George series.  I like the stories about George and the illustration, in the books and in the cartoon series.
